    In the new, booming Electric vehicles (EV) market, EV battery packs are a key component. Thermal management is critical for EV battery pack safety and lifetime. For EV battery heat dissipation, thermal conductive gap filler is likely to become a key type of thermal interface material.
     
    To help meet the needs of this fast-growing market, Dow developed DOWSIL™ TC-5515 LT Low Density Thermal Conductive Gap Filler, featuring light weight (density 1.95 g/cm3), good thermal conductivity (2.0 W/m·K) and reliable performance for automotive applications.
     
    Low density gap filler with reliable thermal conductivity and performance for light weight EV battery pack assembly
     
    A two-part RT curable 2.0 W/m·K low density Silicone Gap Filler. A soft and compressible material once cured. Specifically designed to dissipate the heat from EV battery and control unit modules to provide a reliable cooling solution due to the stability of properties during typical environmental exposure simulating the entire operating life of such a module.
     
    Benefits:

    • Capable of accurate dispensing for automatic production
     
    Limitations:
    • Not for thin bondlines 
    • No chemical bonding, tack adhesion only 
    • Mixing: 2-part only
     
     
    Uses:
    • EV battery assembly
    • Electric control unit module assembly
    • Ideal for applications with large gap tolerances, typically from 150 µm to 5 mm
